Community-led Investment Committee surfaces key insights on participatory grantmaking

The Collaborative Fund Investment Committee – made up of community leaders and community based organizations – came together in 2022 to test a community-owned participatory grantmaking process. The IC developed a vision for the Fund, priorities, values, and a decision-making rubric. The IC also invited diverse mechanisms for organizations to apply for funding and develop a learning agenda to understand the value and growth opportunities to deepen community-owned grantmaking. The visual was generated with IC input and designed by our colleague Rio Holaday. We are excited to put this tool out in the world for other community leaders and organizations interested in pursuing participatory grantmaking!
